Filmmaker Kiran Rao is eagerly looking forward to the release of her film 'Laapataa Ladies'. She returns to direction after 13 years with the comedy-drama that features several new faces. Co-produced by ex-husband Aamir Khan, the film stars Nitanshi Goel, Pratibha Ranta, Sparsh Shrivastava, Chhaya Kadam, and Ravi Kishan in the lead roles. Recently, Kiran revealed that Aamir Khan had also auditioned for the role that has been played by Ravi Kishan in the film. After watching Kishan's audition tape, Aamir and Kiran said he would do justice to the role of Manohar. 

During an interview with The Week, Kiran Rao was asked if Aamir Khan had a special appearance in 'Laapataa Ladies'. She said that Aamir Khan would have liked to do it and revealed, "In fact, Aamir and I had a huge discussion on whether he should play Manohar’s character, which was played by Ravi Kishan. Aamir said, ‘I really love the character, I really want to play it.'”
