A simultaneous chess game between Viswanathan Anand and several other celebrities has raised Rs 10 lakh, but left a few reputations in tatters. After investment start-up Zerodha’s founder Nikhil Kamath was suspended for cheating against the five-time world champion, it is now the turn of Bollywood biggie Sajid Nadiadwala and his Sandalwood counterpart Sudeep to be thrown out by popular gaming site, chess.com.

All three were banned for using an engine in their Sunday night charity game with Anand to raise funds for Covid-relief measures. Unlike Kamath, who cheated his way to a win (!) the two filmy men had the sense to lose eventually, “after putting up a good fight” against the king.
