On Wednesday, Sanjay Leela Bhansali marked his 58th birthday by unveiling the teaser of Gangubai Kathiawadi, and announcing that the Alia Bhatt-starrer will release on July 30. It’s an important film for Bhatt, who plays the titular role, as it’s her first collaboration with the maverick filmmaker. The teaser is set in a theme where the 27-year-old star transforms from a brothel queen to a politician. Through the enthralling video, viewers are introduced to the character of Alia as 'Gangu' who is portraying the role of a boss lady. She looks promising and it's safe to say that her fans are in for a visual treat.

Here’s the teaser of the drama that’s all set to open in the cinemas on July 30:

Bhansali and Bhatt will lock horns with the Baahubali sensation Prabhas at the box office.

The South star’s next Radhe Shyam, co-starring Pooja Hegde, hits the screens on the same day. The release date of the love saga, helmed by Radha Krishna Kumar, was announced on Valentine’s Day. It has been simultaneously shot in Telugu and Hindi, and the makers are touting it as a pan-India film.

A few days back, the makers had shared the first look poster of Prabhas. The actor looked intense in his retro avatar.
