Ameesha Patel, the actress who took a five-year hiatus from the film industry, has made a resounding comeback with her role in Anil Sharma's blockbuster hit, 'Gadar 2.' What's truly remarkable is that the film's box office performance remains as robust as ever, even as it approaches the one-month mark in theaters.

'Gadar 2' has not only enthralled audiences but has also achieved a significant milestone by joining the elite Rs 500 crore club in Hindi cinema. This feat places it in the esteemed company of Shah Rukh Khan's 'Pathaan.' The film's enduring popularity speaks volumes about Ameesha Patel's star power and the gripping narrative that has captivated viewers.
However, amid the jubilation surrounding the movie's success, Ameesha Patel recently shared a revelation about one of her most profound career regrets. In a conversation with Siddharth Kannan, she opened up about a missed opportunity to collaborate with the renowned filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali, a decision that still weighs on her.
Ameesha disclosed, "There were talks for a very good project. But I don’t want to mention its name, because the film has already been made. Unfortunately, my manager at that time and Mr Bhansali were not getting along." She further illuminated her lack of awareness about the situation, saying, "Once I parted ways amicably with that manager, Bhansali told me that there were moments when we were supposed to work together. But, he said, he did not want to deal with my manager. Even Yash Raj Films, Sajid Nadiadwala, and others told me later that they were too scared to approach me because of the person managing my work. So, I missed out on numerous promising projects, directors, and producers due to mismanagement rather than proper management. But that’s destiny."
Ameesha has been making the headlines recently for various confessions. Recently in an exclusive statement to News18, Ameesha Patel revealed that her differences with Anil Sharma existed even during the making of the first Gadar. Despite their creative clashes, they have always considered each other as family. Ameesha also clarified a crucial point - the character of Sakina was not a brainchild of Anil Sharma, but rather the creation of the writer Shaktimanji. She emphasized that her decision to be a part of Gadar 2 was solely driven by her commitment to Sunny Deol and Zee Studios, and she even disclosed that initially, the director had preferred Mamta Kulkarni and Govinda for the lead roles.
