After becoming the first Indian to perform at the coveted EDM festival, Tomorrowland and play The Box at Ministry of Sound, London The Saturday Sessions, DJ Shaan is now the first from the country to be signed on by British record label, Virgin EMI Records.

His voice revealing his elation, the musician tells mid-day that it is his affection for Indian tunes that appealed to the minds behind the international label. "The subtle infusion of Indian elements is what they've appreciated. For instance, I love to play the flute, and they picked up on that. I've always tried to portray my culture and music in an international manner," he says.
