Actor Chandan Roy Sanyal has been roped in to play a key role Nandita Das' Manto, which stars Nawazuddin Siddiqui in the lead.
Sanyal, who was last seen in a negative role in Sanjay Gupta's 'Jazbaa', will play Manto's friend in the biopic. "It's a great opportunity. I have always been a fan of his [Manto's] short stories. When Nandita offered the role to me, I was ecstatic. I am trying to define my career now."
Talking about the newest addition to her cast, Nandita says, "I am delighted that Chandan will play a significant role, that of a writer of great repute, and I am&nbsp;convinced that he will bring a great amount of authenticity to the character. I am excited to have amazing actors on board."
Chandan has Raja Krishna Menon's Saif Ali Khan-starrer Chef and Imtiaz Ali's Rehnuma featuring Shah Rukh Khan and Anushka Sharma in his kitty. He informs, "I am also part of Mirzaa Juuliet, and another Adhikari Brothers' project."
