Farhan Akhtar, Jee Le Zaraa
In 2021, actor and filmmaker Farhan Akhtar unveiled Jee Le Zaraa, which sparked excitement on the internet. What`s the highlight? An all-female lead cast includes three of our country`s brightest stars: Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Alia Bhatt, and Katrina Kaif. PeeCee related the narrative of how they met, “Let’s rewind, to me musing about wanting to do another Hindi movie ASAP, on an unusually rainy night in Mumbai in Nov 2019. But it had to be the right one - different, cool, never been done before… I thought. The idea grew into a movie helmed by an all-female cast. There are not enough Hindi movies that are female multi-starters. This led to an impulsive phone call… to my 2 real friends about this idea that involved 3 on-screen girlfriends. A celebration of friendship we called it!!” but the project never got off the ground owing to scheduling conflicts. However, four years later, Farhan has confirmed that Jee Le Zaraa is taking place.
Farhan Akhtar recently spoke with YouTuber Samdish about how Jee Le Zaraa continued to be delayed after the crew made the announcement. As a result, the filmmaker repeatedly declined acting offers in order to focus on directing the film starring Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Alia Bhatt, and Katrina Kaif. Farhan admitted that it was a trying period that caused personal insecurities, but he was not ready to walk away from the picture. This interview made fans question if Jee Le Zaraa had been shelved for good. However, in a fresh interview with Deccan Chronicle, Farhan stated, "To be honest, it was painful trying to get the actors` dates. But we`ve straightened it all out. "We`ll start soon."
