Actor-filmmaker Farhan Akhtar has launched &ldquo;Mumbai Tennis Masters&rdquo; team which will be representing the financial capital at the Champions Tennis League (CTL) in co-ownership with P Rohit Reddy, promoter family of Aurobindo Pharma Ltd.

The actor feels that being a part of the league will support the sport and help it evolve.
&ldquo;An opportunity like CTL is a step towards a revolution that was long due for our country. With the growing popularity of alternate sports and specifically tennis, it&rsquo;s a proud moment to present this opportunity to all the avid followers of tennis,&rdquo; the "Rock On!!" actor said in a statement.
The owners of the team unveiled the logo of the team also.
The team will comprise players like the former Spanish player Sergi Bruguera, Tommy Robredo, Alize Cornet and India&rsquo;s Balaji Sriram. The two Indian juniors who will be accompanying the team are Pranjala Yadlapalli and Mohit Mayur Jayaprakash.
&ldquo;We are affirmative that an initiative like this will only make India grow leaps and bounds by creating a huge consumption for alternate sports genres,&rdquo; said co-owner Rohit Reddy.
CTL 2014 will see six city based teams play 13 matches over a ten-day period starting Nov 17.
