Gully Boy turned 5 today! The movie starring Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt, created quite a buzz among people. The movie, which hit theatres in 2019, earned a whopping Rs 19.40 crore on its opening day, and the rest is history.

The movie earned a 4-star review from Mid-Day and was described by Mayank Shekhar as "a "shout-out" to budding Mumbai stars Naezy (Naved Sheikh) and Divine (Vivian Fernandes). Their (Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt) story, and of desi rap itself, is still unfolding, as we speak. When it's written in hindsight, I'm pretty sure, this film will be considered, the high-point, if not the turning point, for the genre, after all!"
