Gully Boy turned 5 today! The movie starring Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt, created quite a buzz among people. The movie, which hit theatres in 2019, earned a whopping Rs 19.40 crore on its opening day, and the rest is history.

The movie earned a 4-star review from Mid-Day and was described by Mayank Shekhar as "a "shout-out" to budding Mumbai stars Naezy (Naved Sheikh) and Divine (Vivian Fernandes). Their (Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt) story, and of desi rap itself, is still unfolding, as we speak. When it`s written in hindsight, I`m pretty sure, this film will be considered, the high-point, if not the turning point, for the genre, after all!"
