Though the ferry service starts at 5 am, we hear Ajay prefers to drive back after the shoot

Have you heard? Jetty, set, go!

Ajay Devgn

It is often said that most actors don’t prefer night schedules. Ajay Devgn was once no exception, but has become comfortable with late night schedules over the years. The actor, who is shooting for Bholaa in Madh, apparently has a reserved ferry that takes him from Versova to Madh late afternoon, every day. Though the ferry service starts at 5 am, we hear Ajay prefers to drive back after the shoot. The actor will reportedly be travelling to and from Madh till they complete the spell.  Bholaa is a remake of the 2019 Tamil hit, Kaithi. Interestingly, Ajay has a long association with the location since he has extensively shot there for Maidaan. He plays the part of former coach Syed Abdul Rahim, in the upcoming biographical sports drama, set in the golden era of Indian football (1952 to 1962).

A song for Kolkata

Sameer Rahat, son of late legendary lyricist Rahat Indori, is thrilled to create a song dedicated to Kolkata for the upcoming college drama musical, Homecoming. Talking about the track, Jugnu hote hain, which he has rendered with Rashmeet Kaur, Sameer says, “Kolkata is one of my favourite cities in the world. I have many friends there and also relate to the culture. The city is full of love and joy. So, to be able to shoot there was a dream come true.” Filming the video in the West Bengal capital was a unique experience. Rashmeet adds, “I could connect with the lyrics so much, as the chorus says ‘Maiń tere zehen ke andheroń meiń Roshan huñ.’ The feeling of two people sitting together, secluded from the world that was outside the tram [was surreal]. Of course, there was a crew shooting with us, but it felt like it was just Sameer and I.”

It’s a girl for Aditya, Shweta

Aditya Narayan and wife Shweta have become proud parents of a baby girl. The singer, actor and host shared the news online with their wedding picture, and wrote, “Elated to share that the almighty has blessed us with a beautiful baby daughter on 24.2.22 (sic).” Apparently, everyone foretold the couple that they would have a boy, but Aditya hoped for a baby girl. And ever since she came into this world, he hasn’t stopped smiling.

Back on Eid

For over 12 years, Salman Khan has been releasing his films on the festive occasion of Eid. Since 2009, he has missed the date only thrice — in 2013 when he didn’t have a film ready, and in 2020 and 2022 when his movies couldn’t be completed in time owing to COVID-19. However, the actor is all set to reclaim his favourite festive date with Tiger 3 next year. The third instalment of his action-thriller, with Katrina Kaif, who returns as Zoya, is slated to open in cinemas on April 21, 2023, coinciding with Eid.

Trilogy plans?

Has the trilogy bug bitten John Abraham now? He shared a new poster of his Attack Part 1, saying, “Get ready for Attack in 3,” as if hinting that the action thriller will release in three parts. Given that the first instalment of Brahmastra, said to be Bollywood’s first planned trilogy, is set to arrive on September 9, it looks like John is keen to be the first to reach the cinemas.

Century celebrations

Anushka Sharma wouldn’t miss attending husband-cricketer Virat Kohli’s 100th test match for anything in the world. She was right by his side when Rahul Dravid presented the ceremonial cap to Virat and applauded him along with the other cricketers. In an interview ahead of the match, the Indian skipper praised his wife saying, “I’m very, very grateful and thankful to God to have a life partner like her and she’s been an absolute pillar of strength for me. I started evolving when Anushka came into my life and vice versa. We have both helped each other grow. I wouldn’t have been able to go on with so much composure and so much passion and zeal if it wasn’t for her in my life (sic).”

Rukshar faces her fear

Rukshar Dhillon, who made her debut with Bhangra Paa Le, has been afraid of skeletons for years. However, for a scene in the show, Jugaadistan, she had to spend considerable time with one. The actor plays a medical student in the series and the screenplay required her to not only work with a skeleton, but fix it too. Left with no choice, Rukshar overcame her phobia and aced her scenes in the two days
she shot with her biggest fear.

What’s in a name?

It’s not often that celebrities write and rewrite their bios on social media. Take Shibani Dandekar-Akhtar for example. A few days after her wedding with Farhan Akhtar, she had edited her bio on social media and added ‘Mrs Akhtar’ to it. However, she soon had a change of heart and tweaked it to: ‘Presenter, producer, actress, singer’. After all, an independent multi-talented woman doesn’t have to be Mrs Someone, no? She, however, has retained hubby Farhan’s surname in her name.

Ghar ki baat

The Roshans seem to have accepted Hrithik Roshan’s rumoured girlfriend Saba Azad into the fold. The Rocket Boys actor took to social media to thank his family for sending ghar ka khaana to her. Sharing a picture of the meal online, Saba wrote: “When you are home sick but have the bestest humans ever feeding you.” She tagged Hrithik’s aunt Kanchan Roshan, cousin Pashmina and niece Suranika.
