The 16th edition of the reality show, Bigg Boss, concluded yesterday, and resulted in the unexpected win of Pune rapper MC Stan, who took home the trophy and the prize money of Rs 31 lakh. Stan shared the stage with his friend Shiv Thakare, who secured the second spot after defeating fan-favourite Priyanka Chahar Choudhary. While public opinion largely indicated that the gong would be lifted by Thakare or Choudhary, Stan’s win came as a surprise to attendees and the winner alike.

Talking to the media after the end of the show, Thakare, who recently won the Marathi edition of the show, said, “I and Priyanka were good players. MC Stan is a good guy and never played for the trophy. And that’s what made him the winner. I have always said this whenever I was asked, Stan was a perfect fit for the show. He deserves to be the winner in every way.”

Several house-mates will be walking away from this edition with new projects. While Ankit Gupta and Gautam Vij are the faces of a new telly show, Shalin Bhanot was offered Ekta Kapoor’s new series at the finale episode. Nimrit Kaur Ahluwalia bagged Kapoor’s next project, LSD 2.

Meanwhile, Choudhary doesn’t go home empty-handed. She bags the prize money of R25 lakh for winning a beauty competition during her stay, in addition to the weekly stipulated amount.

In the 30-second video shared on social media, Talpade — who apparently plays a Christian man in the comedy — is shown stopping a lorry by placing his foot on it. A Twitter handle pointed out that his character had “disrespected” the Hindu symbol of ‘Om’ by putting his foot on it. But, the Iqbal star said it was “completely unintentional”.
