Have you heard? Janhvi’s triple treat

Janhvi Kapoor

Even as three of her projects—Mr and Mrs Mahi, Devara Parts 1 and 2, and Ulajh—are being readied for release, Janhvi Kapoor has as many as four movies lined up to begin this year. First up, the tentatively titled RC 16, slated to go on floors this summer. Buchi Babu will direct the pan-Indian offering, also features Ram Charan. She is teaming up with Suriya for Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra’s film, Karna. Apparently, Janhvi will portray the role of Draupadi in the two-part mythological drama. Later, she will reunite with Bawaal co-star Varun Dhawan and Dhadak director Shahshank Khaitan for a romantic comedy backed by Karan Johar, in between the two diverse movies. The film is slated to go into production this June.

Mithun hospitalised

Mithun Chakraborty was hospitalised in Kolkata on Saturday. Reportedly, he complained of chest pain and discomfort in the morning and was rushed to a private hospital. In the evening, Mithun da’s son, Mimoh, said his father was admitted to the hospital for a routine sugar-level checkup, as per reports. He assured that the veteran actor is now fine. Reports claim the actor underwent an MRI earlier on Saturday, and other medical tests were also conducted. Padma Bhushan winner Mithun da has won three national awards in his lifetime.

Main nahin hoon Don

Ranveer Singh is preping to play the titular role in Farhan Akhtar’s Don 3, which goes on floors this summer. But, apparently, he was not Farhan’s first choice to step into the iconic role essayed by Shah Rukh Khan in Don: Chase Begins Again and Don 2: The King is Back. Apparently, the filmmaker had first approached Ranbir Kapoor for the third instalment of the action thriller franchise. It is being said that the Animal actor had some reservations about the script and wasn’t too thrilled by the idea of taking up the role. So he politely declined the offer.

Change in Tiger, Pathaan face-off plans

It appears that Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan’s Tiger vs Pathaan will take a little longer. Rumour has it that producer Aditya Chopra is looking to begin another film under the YRF Spy Universe first. Apparently, the filmmaker wants to build up the intrigue around the full-fledged reunion of the two superspies with another thriller.

The idea is to pave the way for Salman and SRK’s high-octane, action-packed face-off on-screen with another spy story that will interconnect the two narratives. Guess we will know in the coming weeks what Adi is planning for his growing spy universe.

Bonding with Bond

Jaideep Ahlawat recently had a surreal moment. He met the man behind the wonderful storybooks he had read as a child, legendary writer Ruskin Bond. The actor shared his joy with the world with pictures from his meeting with the icon. Along with the pictures on his social media handle, he wrote, “The name is Bond… Ruskin Bond. What a surreal day!” Alongside his autograph on Jaideep’s personal copy of Collected Short Stories: Ruskin Bond, the author wrote: “Good wishes and good luck for all your future work in films and elsewhere.”
