Ranveer Singh has ended his 12-year association with YRF’s talent management division
Ranveer Singh and Aditya Chopra
Uh oh, after Parineeti Chopra earlier this week, now Ranveer Singh has ended his association with YRF’s talent management division. Some sources claim that the parting was on an amicable note, as the actor and Aditya Chopra, the head honcho of the studio, share a great relationship, and will continue to collaborate creatively. But for now, the chapter of managing Ranveer as a talent has come to a close. This is shocking, since Ranveer was launched by Adi in his production Band Baaja Baaraat (2010), and mentored and guided to become the star he is today. More so, as the friendship between the Chopras and the Bhavnanis (Ranveer’s original surname) go back a long way, to the days of the late Yash Chopra. So, why would a protégé quit working with his mentor’s company? To know more, keep watching this space. Nonetheless, it’s very strange indeed.

All of us have worked hard on the film.” SRK added, “And for Deepika [Padukone], John [Abraham], [director] Siddharth Anand and Adi [producer Aditya Chopra], I wish you all pray that the film is very good and it comes out with a second part, so we can start working on it.” When a fan asked SRK which of his films would he like to make a sequel of, the crowd echoed, “RA.One!” To that, the actor said, “If I can get someone younger and cooler to play G.One [his character on screen], then I’d surely love to make it.”

Apparently, shooting for Tiger 3 has been completed, save for Shah Rukh Khan’s special role as Pathaan with Salman’s Tiger.
New beginnings
Richa Chadha and Ali Fazal’s maiden production venture, Girls Will Be Girls, went on floors in Uttarakhand recently. The film, which has been in the news for earning several prestigious grants over the last few months, stars the Kerala State Award-winning actor, Kani Kusruti in the lead. Director Shuchi Talati’s coming-of-age story, set in the Himalayan foothills, also marks the debut of Preeti Panigrahi and Kesav Binoy Kiron, essaying parallel leads alongside Kani. Excited about the new beginning, Richa said, “I am grateful for these humble beginnings as I always wanted to get behind good quality indies. Shuchi and I have been friends since college and I am happy to be a part of her journey. I am confident she will make a good feature, which has huge international prospects.” Ali added, “We started this creators’ lab with the intent of backing new talent. Girls Will Be Girls is the apt first step for us in that respect.”
Wedding planners?
Ever since Shahid Kapoor shared on Karan Johar’s chat show that a non-film announcement is expected from Sidharth Malhotra and Kiara Advani, there have been countless reports of their December wedding. Now, rumours are rife that the Shershaah jodi is scouting for suitable locations for their big day. Apparently, the couple has shortlisted an exclusive and expansive resort and spa in Chandigarh, for their shaadi. Incidentally, it’s the same venue where Rajkummar Rao and Patralekhaa took the saat pheras. Interestingly, Sid and Kiara had reportedly considered Goa as well, but let it pass owing to his big, fat Punjabi parivaar.

He adds that the actor also indulged in the local Malwa cuisine during the schedule.
