Just being an actor
Anushka Sharma has stepped away from Clean Slate Filmz (CSF), a production banner that she co-founded with her brother Karnesh Ssharma in the year 2013. Taking to Instagram, Anushka shared, “I have decided that whatever time I have at hand, I will dedicate it to my first love, acting! Therefore, I have decided to step away from CSF, confident that the most able person, Karnesh, is taking forward the vision with which it was created in the first place.”
Varun, Atlee to team up?
Even as Atlee’s maiden Hindi directorial venture with Shah Rukh Khan is under production, we hear the South director is already contemplating his next movie. We hear that the filmmaker is planning to remake his 2016 Tamil hit, Theri with Varun Dhawan. The two have reportedly met and discussed adapting the Vijay and Samantha-starrer for their first collaboration. While Varun is scheduled to start filming Raj-DK and Russo Brothers’ Citadel with Samantha in the coming weeks, it remains to be seen if he pairs up with Samantha in the remake of Theri.
Learning from the legends
Suhail Nayyar is thrilled to have got the opportunity to work with the late Rishi Kapoor in Sharmaji Namkeen. The actor plays the titular character’s son in the feel-good drama. As someone who believes in preparing for his part, Suhail was surprised to see Rishi’s spontaneity in front of the camera. “Before facing the camera, he would talk about everything under the sun. But the moment the shot was ready, he would become Sharmaji. [After working with him], I realised that’s how legends are.” Suhail adds that the same held true for Paresh Rawal, who stepped into the veteran actor’s shoes after his demise.
