Over four years since the release of Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor-starrer, Stree, the makers are said to gear up for a sequel soon. Following the runaway success of the film, producer Dinesh Vijan and director Amar Kaushik have been working towards establishing their horror comedy universe. Last year, they came out with Roohi, starring Janhvi Kapoor opposite Rajkummar. Now, we hear that Amar has finalised the screenplay for the sequel of his first horror comedy. Prep for the film, naturally titled Stree 2, will begin after the director’s upcoming offering Bhediya. The plot of Bhediya revolves around Varun Dhawan’s character turning into an ichhadaari werewolf after being bitten by one in the jungles of Arunachal Pradesh. The November 25 offering also stars Kriti Sanon as the vet whom he consults for his unprecedented dilemma. Interestingly, just as Shraddha has a cameo in Bhediya, Varun, too, is likely to have a pivotal part in the Stree sequel. Dinesh and Amar are looking to take the Raj-Shraddha film on floors in the first half of 2023.
