Former actor Imran Khan, who is known for his work in Jaane Tu... Ya Jaane Na, and Delhi Belly, opened up on how he felt ‘insecure’ about his physique, and talked about his uphill fitness journey. Taking to Instagram to share a string of pictures of himself, he wrote, “I’ve always been skinny. I’m one of those hyper-metabolic people. My body burns through whatever I consume. Oh no, what a terrible affliction! In my late teens, guys around me started joining gyms and working out. They started to expand, their biceps stretching the sleeves of their t-shirts. I wore a size S, and my sleeves were still loose,” he wrote, recounting how he attempted to gain muscle mass over the years after making his debut. “Sculpting and maintenance of my body became part of my lifestyle. I worked out regularly, but would still hear, ‘So, you’ll bulk up a bit before we start shooting, right?’, ‘You’re looking weak’, ‘You look like a little boy, not a man’, and, ‘The heroine looks bigger than you’.” He admitted that he “tried harder” because he wanted “a powerful, heroic physique”. “I had six meals a day, totalling 4,000 calories—all the good stuff. But I would still not gain enough to look [big]. I needed to supplement with whey protein, creatine, and ultimately, anabolic steroids.”

The commercial success of recent Hindi movies is good for the film industry, says actor Akshay Kumar, who hopes the benchmark for a blockbuster film will be “Rs 2000-3000 crore” in the future. “I hope the industry delivers more hits. It’s a great thing that R1,000 crore is [now] a benchmark. I also hope that we make Rs 2000-3000 crore films.” Previously, Salman Khan had also stated that in the future, R100-crore openings will not be “a big deal” in Bollywood.

Recounting how she was branded a ‘chudail’ or a ‘witch’ after she was accused of abetting her partner, film actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s suicide, actor Rhea Chakraborty said that women are often subjected to such treatment when they don’t subscribe to patriarchy. At a recent event, she said, “I like the name ‘chudail’. Back in the day, a witch was a woman who did not subscribe to the patriarchal society. Maybe I am that person. Maybe I know how to do black magic,” added the actor, who after Rajput’s death became the subject of intense trolling.
