Hrithik Roshan to ring in his birthday with family and close friends in the country

Turning 50, feeling nifty!

Hrithik Roshan and Rakesh Roshan

Bollywood’s Greek god is about to hit the big 5-0. While one expects Hrithik Roshan to cook up a celebration for the world to see, like most of his peers, our man has decided to keep it rather intimate—just family and close friends. Considering the size of the Roshan clan, it would easily make up the numbers for a jam-packed party.

Currently, the debate among the Roshans is: will it be a bash at their Khandala farmhouse, or are they planning an out-of-country extravaganza? Rakesh Roshan has left the decision to Hrithik, who just returned from London. Last year’s birthday party on January 10 was held at Hrithik’s Juhu residence, which was attended by family and close friends, including Farhan and Shibani Akhtar, Zoya Akhtar, Kunal Kapoor, Ritesh and Dolly Sidhwani, and girlfriend Saba Azad.

“We are a 16-member family, like the ones you see in big fat Punjabi weddings,” laughs Rakesh, adding, “Hrithik will decide the final venue. It will be somewhere close to India and not a far-off destination. We all travel light so we can decide in a day and go anywhere we want.” Their Khandala farmhouse is spread across 22,400 sq ft on a five-acre’ plot, which overlooks the Rajmachi hills. The holiday home was designed by architect Grigoria Oikonomou.

So, where’s the party at? Your guess is as good as Hrithik’s. Post the celebrations, the actor will plunge headlong into the promotions of Siddharth Anand’s Fighter and the shooting of Ayan Mukerji’s War 2.
