Tuesdays and Fridays chronicles the journey of lovers who interact with each other on Tuesdays and Fridays, and explore relationships with other individuals in the rest of the week. Débutante director Taranveer Singh admits that the narrative that sheds light on the complicated love-life of the millennial generation, is in the vein of a Dharma production. It evidently came as a surprise then that Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s production house expressed interest in it.

“When I was called to his office, I didn’t think this film would [match his sensibilities]. I like simple romcoms. I told his team that my film had no palaces and heavy ghagras associated with it. They responded stating that they do not only make historical films,” he laughs, adding that it was at the filmmaker’s behest that they decided to rope in newcomers, one among whom is Poonam Dhillon’s son, Anmol Thackeria. “Established actors weren’t willing to work with a debutante director. That is [justified]. So, Sanjay sir recommended that we work with newcomers. That worked in the film’s favour.”
