Sudeep garners more supporters after Devgn challenges his claim about Hindi not being ‘a national language’ Ajay Devgn has found himself in the eye of a storm  after he challenged Kannada actor Kiccha Sudeep over his comments on the national language. Sudeep recently said, “Hindi is no more a national language”. His comments were aimed at indicating the reach of films from the south. Devgn, however, insisted that Hindi “was, is, and will always be the national language.”

It turns out that Sudeep wasn’t the only one  who took offence to Devgn’s comments. Actor Ramya responded, “No, Hindi is not our national language. Your ignorance is baffling. It’s great that films like KGF, Pushpa and RRR have done so well in the Hindi belt. Art has no language barrier. Please enjoy our films as much as we enjoy yours.”

Kiccha Sudeep

Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj S Bommai has come out in favour of Sudeep after former Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah responded stating,  “Hindi was never and will never be our national language. It is the duty of every Indian to respect [the] linguistic diversity of our country. Each language has its own rich history for its people to be proud of.” Ram Gopal Varma also supported Sudeep saying that “north stars are insecure of south stars.”
