<p>Model-turned-actress Lisa Ray is preparing for a stem cell transplant in Toronto next week to treat her rare cancer. </p>
<p>According to the actress, the procedure involves releasing her own stem cells into her blood, collecting them and then freezing them.</p>

<p>Multiple Myelomai also known as Kahler's disease, is a cancer of the bone marrow. Doctors are still unable to guarantee any patient that they can make a full recovery from this rare form of cancer.<br /><br />Inspite of her illness, Lisa was seen riding up in cycle-rickshaws for the premiere of Dilip Mehta's "Cooking With Stella" at the Toronto International Film Festival in September.<br /><br />The actress has also agreed to team up with Sanjay Dutt for a biopice on Charles Sobhraj.</p>
