It is with a certain sense of expectation that one goes to watch Chittagong. The familiarity of the story, the courage and daring of its protagonists, our love for armchair patriotism and now the regrouping of the main cast of the Gangs of Wasseypur have added to the excitement about this film
But, as the wise say, expectation is the root cause of disappointment.u00a0Although authentic in its depiction of the era in which the story is set, impressive in its scale, and consistent in its tone and mood, Chittagong isn’t too engaging a film. Partly because of the complexity of the plot, the film is unable to weave the different strands of the lives of its multiple characters into a single adventure.
