These two unusual films - Anurag Basu&#39;s directorial venture &#39;Barfi&#39;, Sujoy Ghosh directed &#39;Kahaani&#39; -- and John Abraham&#39;s maiden home production film &#39;Vicky Donor&#39; won not only audience hearts but awards as well at the 58th Filmfare awards that were held at the Yash Raj Films studio in Andheri in suburban Mumbai. <img alt="Ranbir Kapoor and Vidya Balan" src="http://images.mid-day.com/2013/jan/ranbir-vidya.jpg" style="width: 500px; height: 450px;" /> Ranbir Kapoor&#39;s deaf and mute act won him yet another best actor award at Filmfare, while the best film award was given to &#39;Barfi&#39; and best debut award (Female) was bagged by Ileana D&#39;cruz for &#39;Barfi&#39;. The Best Background Score and Best Music Director awards went to Pritam for &#39;Barfi&#39;, and award for Best Production Design went to Rajat Podar for the same film. Vidya Balan continued her winning spree in the best actress category with Filmfare best actress category award. Best director award was handed over to Sujoy Ghosh, while Best Sound Design award went to Sanjay Maurya and Allwin Rego. Two major awards for &#39;Kahaani&#39; came from Namrata Rao bagging the Best Editing title and Sethu winning Best Cinematography. In the best actor supporting role (male) category, the award went to Annu Kapoor for his portrayal of Dr Chaddha in &#39;Vicky Donor&#39;. Writer of the film Juhi Chaturvedi earned the Best Story award. Ayushmann Khurrana, who made his acting debut in the movie, won two awards - Best Debut (male) and Best Playback Singer award (male) for singing &#39;Paani Da&#39;. Anushka Sharma won best actor in supporting role (female) award for &#39;Jab Tak Hai Jaan&#39;, while Gulzar won the Best Lyrics award for &#39;Challa&#39; from &#39;Jab Tak Hai Jaan&#39;. Filmfare award for the Best Debut Director was bagged by Gauri Shinde for &#39;English Vinglish&#39;. Best Dialogue Award went to Anurag Kashyap, Akhilesh Jaiswal, Sachin K Ladia and Zeishan Qadri for &#39;Gangs of Wasseypur&#39;. Best Screenplay Award goes to Sanjay Chouhan and Tigmanshu Dhulia for &#39;Paan Singh Tomar&#39;. Award for the Best Playback Singer (Female) went to Shalmali Kholgade for the song &#39;Pareshaan&#39; in &#39;Ishaqzaade&#39;. Filmfare Award for Best Action went to Sham Kaushal for &#39;Gangs of Wasseypur&#39; and Best Choreography to Bosco-Caesar for the super fun song &#39;Aunty Ji&#39; from &#39;Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu&#39;. Neeti Mohan won the RD Burman Award, while the Lifetime Achievement Award went to late filmmaker Yash Chopra. Madhuri Dixit Nene presented the award to the late filmmaker&#39;s wife, Pamela. Madhuri has worked with Chopra in &#39;Dil Toh Pagal Hai&#39; which was amongst the most successful films of her career. Chopra passed away just weeks before the release of his last film &#39;Jab Tak Hai Jaan&#39; last year. The film starring Shah Rukh Khan, Katrina Kaif and Anushka Sharma turned out to be a big hit. Filmfare Critics Award for Best Actor Male was given to Irrfan Khan for &#39;Paan Singh Tomar&#39; and Richa Chaddha won the same award in female category for &#39;Gangs Of Wasseypur&#39;. Best film in this category was won by &#39;Gangs of Wasseypur&#39;. Celebrities added glitz and glamour as they started walking on the red carpet from around 7.30 PM to attend the Filmfare awards. Dressed in her traditional golden-red color sari, Rekha walked the red carpet with grace. Madhuri Dixit arrived with her husband Sriram Nene in a black color dress, while Parineeti Chopra too looked glamorous in a black outfit. Others who came include Vidya Balan, Gauri Shinde with husband R Balki, Karan Johar, Irrfan Khan, Soojit Sircar, Chitrangada Singh, R Madhavan, Manoj Bajpayee, Kunal Kohli, Sonali Bendre with Goldie Behl, Yami Gautam, Ayushmaan Khurrana and David Dhawanu00a0
