Veteran actor Randhir Kapoor lost his younger brother and actor Rajiv Kapoor on Tuesday (9 February) morning. He passed away after suffering a heart attack in Mumbai. He was 58. His last rites were conducted on the same day. His funeral was attended by family members Randhir Kapoor, Karisma Kapoor, Rishi Kapoor's wife Neetu Kapoor, Ranbir Kapoor and Riddhima Kapoor Sahni.

Now, Randhir has opened on Rajiv's shocking demise and how he is coping up with the loss of his brother - Rishi and Rajiv in less than a year. Speaking to The Times of India, Randhir said, "I don't know what's happening. I was equally close to Rishi and Rajiv. I have lost four people from my family--my mother Krishna Kapoor (October 2018), eldest sister Ritu (January 14, 2020), Rishi and now Rajiv. These four were my central core, with whom I did most of my talking."
Talking about what exactly happened on Tuesday, February 9, Randhir said, "Well, I have a 24-hour nurse since I have a bit of a problem in walking due to a nerve-related issue. The nurse went to wake him up in the morning at about 7:30 am and he did not respond. She detected that his pulse was very low and dropping further. We rushed him to the hospital but all efforts to save him failed. And, now I am left alone in this house".
When asked how will he cope up with the loss, the veteran actor said, "Do I have any option? What can I do? What has to happen will happen."
A day after the demise, Neetu Kapoor had announced that there will be no 'Chautha' held due to the 'current pandemic circumstances'. The 62-year-old actor and wife of late Rishi Kapoor took to Instagram and issued a statement confirming the same.
"Due to the current pandemic circumstances, there will be no Chautha held for the Late Mr. Rajiv Kapoor for safety reasons. May his soul rest in peace. The entire Raj Kapoor family is a part of your grief too," the statement read.

Celebrities from the Hindi film industry paid their condolences on social media. Randhir's daughter Kareena Kapoor Khan remembered her uncle by sharing a picture on social media that has Rajiv Kapoor, Raj Kapoor, Rishi Kapoor, and Randhir Kapoor, Kareena wrote- “Broken but strong (sic)".

Rajiv Kapoor was the youngest of late legend Raj Kapoor's three sons, and the younger brother of Randhir Kapoor and late Rishi Kapoor. Known by his nickname Chimpu in Bollywood, he shot to fame with his starring role in Raj Kapoor's 1985 blockbuster Ram Teri Ganga Maili co-starring Mandakini. His other notable works include Lava, Zalzala and Zabardast.
In 1997, he tried his hand at direction with the Rishi Kapoor-Madhuri Dixit starrer "Prem Granth", produced under the RK Films banner. Dealing with the subject of rape and its social stigma, the film was a commercial flop. He also handled the production responsibilities of his production RK Banner and produced films like Henna, Prem Granth, and Aa Ab Laut Chalein, which became the last film of the banner in 1999.
