Actress Rituparna Sengupta who recently worked with Bappi Lahiri as she sang the song Phoolmoti with him, speaks about the legendary composer.

She told mid-day.com, "He was a bit unwell but never lost his focus. I saw him remaining awake till late to finish the recordings and videos! Tremendous willpower and dedication to his craft, if he didn't sing he did the rap! His life is full of accomplishments and accolades. The Lahiri house walls are all adorned with his best golden and platinum discs from his super hit films, the golden man saw victory till his end! I still remember coming back from the shoot of 'Phoolmoti' late in Mumbai but Bappi Da used to be wide awake waiting to finish the work and encouraged me to sing Phoolmoti..which became so popular. He addressed the press with so much happiness and sensitivity. He was one of a kind with his big heart and warmth. His big family was always around him celebrating this golden man ...me too since Bappi Da was family to me. He wanted to produce a beautiful Bengali film ....with me in the cast and a new album too but I am so happy with 'Phoolmoti' which Bappi Da gifted me never knew he will be gone so soon who has been a composer for so many super hit films including acting in Dard E Disco and one movie still waiting to be released 'Amar Labongolata'. My personal favourite songs are 'Chalte chalte Yeh naina yeh kajal' (Dil Se Mile Dil) 'Humko aajkal hai intezaar' ('Sailaab') 'Manziel e apni jaga hai' ('Sharaabi') 'Kisi nazar ko tera' ('Aitebaar') 'Jawani janeman' ('Namak Halal') 'Oo lala' ('The Dirty Picture) 'Yaad aa rahi hai' ('Disco Dancer')".
