In the midst of the pandemic last year, Rohit Roy shot for his first international project, an Indo-British sci-fi movie, Screem, in London. Talking about his debut project, directed by Sam Bhattacharya, he says, “Screem is based on artificial intelligence. I play a software-businessman who creates a new application on AI. As a result, even after one’s death, a copy of themselves can exist. A huge amount of VFX work has been employed, and currently, the makers are in the midst of post-production.” The month-long shooting schedule in London took place in a bio-bubble. “There were many restrictions. We shot some songs with local dancers, and the only worry was shooting without a mask.”

Bhattacharya had found in Roy the potential to play a seemingly good, but bad guy, who would go to great lengths for his business. “They shot songs after my first week because they were excited to [film with] an Indian actor. We shot with British model-actor-dancer, Scarlett Wilson.”
