Sikander Kher: Vasan Bala brings unique cinema to the table

Sikander Kher on working with Vasan Bala in Monica, O My Darling

It’s filmmaker Vasan Bala’s master work that drew Sikander Kher to Monica, O My Darling—a noir film set to release soon on Netflix. He believes that Bala brings a unique sense of cinema and pop culture to his films. Enjoying the new learning curve of his career and hoping to collaborate again soon, Kher says, “Vasan sir’s writing and direction [makes the film] a masterpiece. The kind of unique cinema he brings to the table is refreshing. He is so hands-on and intricately involved in every aspect of the work including, cinematography, props, costumes and music. It is a privilege and an honour to work with him and I hope our paths cross again soon.”

Kher was last seen in Aarya that earned an International Emmy nomination recently. Monica, O My Darling  that revolves around the man who tries to make it big with some unlikely allies and a diabolical plan also features Huma Qureshi, Rajkummar Rao and Radhika Apte.
