Sonu Sood will jumpstart 2023 with his next, Fateh, which is slated to go on floors in January. Ad filmmaker Vaibhav Mishra makes his directorial debut with the action drama that focuses on hacking and cyber scams. In Fateh, Sood will be seen on triple duty — he is not only an actor and producer on the project, but has also written the film. A source reveals, “Sonu has been working on the script and screenplay for one-and-a-half years. As a part of his research on the subject, he met several ethical hackers.”

Given that the subject of hacking is vast and complex, Sood has roped in members of Malaysia-based EC Council to oversee the cyber fraud sequences. The source adds, “The EC Council is a global leader in cyber-security education. Sonu brought them on board in September. A team of EC Council members will be involved in the planning and execution, thus ensuring authenticity in the sequences that will depict cyber crimes.” The movie, also starring Jacqueline Fernandez, will be shot extensively in Punjab and Delhi. Sood, who is currently hand-picking the crew, has chosen international cinematographer and stunt directors.

When mid-day reached out to Sood, he refused to comment on the project, only stating, “We’re in the process of finalising certain things. I will be able to share appropriate details at the right time.”
