Sunny Deol reveals how Karan Deol was too afraid to directly introduce his girlfriend, Drisha Acharya to him

Karan Deol got married to his long-time girlfriend Drisha Acharya on June 18, 2023 in the presence of family and friends in Mumbai. The couple had a week-long celebration leading up to their wedding day. The wedding itself was a lavish and pomp-filled affair attended by close friends and family. The sangeet and wedding reception saw several celebrities from the Hindi film industry in attendance.

While the Deol men aren't known for their dancing abilities, both father Sunny Deol and grandfather Dharmendra put on showstopping performances during the celebrations. Sunny Deol gave a stunning performance on the song Main Nikla Gaddi Leke from Gadar. On the Kapil Sharma Show, Sunny opened up about how he had been unusually introduced to his now daughter-in-law.
Sunny revealed that Karan had been too afraid of his father to approach his directly and tell him about his intention of marrying Drisha. Instead, he had shared the happy news with his mother Pooja Deol first, who in turn had told her husband, Sunny. He said that he had been overjoyed about his son's decision as they didn't have a daughter in their family and couldn't wait to wholeheartedly welcome her.
It seems like having two left feet is not the only thing that the Deol family have in common. Sunny talked about his bond with Karan and shared that being a little scared of one’s father is also a Deol family trait. He said that his dad Dharmendra had been afraid of Bauji, he was afraid of Dharmendra and then Karan.
How did Dadaji Dharmendra learn of Karan and Drisha's love? In an interview with ETimes amidst the wedding festivities, the veteran actor had said that Karan first told his mother who then told Sunny, who told him in turn. We are observing a pattern of generational passing on of secrets here! Dharmenda also shared that he met Drisha at his house before the marriage. When Sunny told him about Karan and Drisha's desire to get married, Dharmendra had encouraged the match and said "Go ahead if Karan likes her".
After the wedding, Sunny Deol posted photos from the ceremony on Instagram and captioned it, "Today I gained a beautiful daughter."
Meanwhile, Karan and Drisha recently returned to Mumbai after enjoying their honeymoon in Manali. The newlyweds were all smiles for photographs at the airport. Drisha is a fashion designer, working in Dubai. Reportedly, Drisha is the granddaughter of Bimal Roy's daughter, Rinki Bhattacharya, who was married to filmmaker Basu Bhattacharya.
