Sushant Singh Rajput’s father KK Singh has filed a plea in the Delhi High Court seeking to restrain anyone from using his late son’s name or likeness in films. The projects based on the actor’s life and mentioned in the petition are Nyay: The Justice, Suicide or Murder: A Star Was Lost, Shashank, and an unnamed crowdfunded film.

Justice Manoj Kumar Ohri issued notices to the filmmakers and sought their stand by May 24. The plea maintains that the producers are taking advantage of the situation, and are cashing in on Rajput’s name for “ulterior motives.” It adds that if a movie, web series, book or any other content is allowed to be published or broadcast, “it would affect the right of the victim and deceased for a fair trial and cause prejudice to them.”
