Though he&rsquo;s close to 70, Pyarelal is still as passionate about music as he was in his younger days. Then I happened to meet singer Pankaj Chaturvedi, and thought that he had a beautiful voice. I find that the new crop of singers are very good but the range of their voices is very high. Pankaj&rsquo;s voice is modern, yet it has &lsquo;harkat&rsquo; in it. So, I thought of exploring his voice. We&rsquo;ve used many musicians along with a combination of modern as well as Indian instruments. Album talk We are coming out with a private album after 11 years; that&rsquo;s a long time. But I feel that people have given us a lot of pyaar- mohobbat. Today, nobody buys albums. But we spoke to a lot of people, and they said they will definitely buy it. So even if 8,000- 10,000 albums are sold, we will be happy. Saraswati Ma Ka Aashirwad Hai. In music, the closer you are to the truth, the better music you will create. Sach mein &lsquo;sa&rsquo; hai, sargam mein bhi &lsquo;sa&rsquo; hai. So, if the music is true, I&rsquo;m sure people will accept it with whole-heartedly. Blessed by the best Every day is a new day for me. If I think that I have achieved everything, I will be finished. It&rsquo;s all about teamwork. If Laxmikant- Pyarelal achieved anything, people like Anand Bakshi, Majrooh Sultanpuri, Kaifi Azmi, Sudhir Ludhianvi have a lot to do with it. We got maximum love and care from Lataji (Lata Mangeshkar). I won&rsquo;t call it support, it&rsquo;s a blessing. We worked with Rafisaab (Mohammed Rafi). I have never met a man like him, and will never meet someone like him, ever. He was not just a great singer, but also a great human being. His voice suited everyone, right from Shammi Kapoor to Johny Walker. If he was alive today, then Shah Rukh and Salman Khan aur chamakte! (smiles) Music that&rsquo;s evergreen Laxmiji (Laxmikant Kudalkar) is still alive for me. People still listen to his music with a lot of fondness. So I feel he&rsquo;s still alive. In the same way, people like Shankar-Jaikishan, Pancham da (RD Burman) are also alive. And for Laxmiji, what can say I say. Unki tareef karna toh aisa hoga jaise sooraj ko diya dikhana.
