If you like playing around with fabrics and prints, attend a tie-dye workshop this weekend. The workshop will be hosted by Kaveri Shelar, who has vast experience in drawing, design, printing, dyeing and weaving. She has been a lecturer of Textile Art and Designing at Sophia Polytechnic for the last 19 years.

The workshop will start with a PowerPoint presentation introducing you to the history and process of tie-dye. This will be followed by a demo, after which you will try your hand at it. In the first half of the class, you will have dyed the first colour onto the fabric, and in the second half, the second. Once the fabric has dried, you’ll learn to open up the fabric and iron it to see the final outcome.
The workshop is open to those above the age of 15 years. Tea and light refreshments will be served in the evening.
