In 2020, when filmmaker Siddharth Anand announced Rambo with Tiger Shroff, the film seemed right up the action star’s alley. Almost four years on, he was set to begin work on the movie after the release of Bade Miyan Chote Miyan. However, things seem to have changed now. With Shroff’s last few releases, including Heropanti 2 (2022) and Ganapath (2023), receiving lukewarm response at the box office, it is heard that Rambo’s makers have decided to shelve the project.

A source reveals, “Producer Siddharth and director Rohit Dhawan wanted to mount Rambo on a big budget. While Heropanti 2 and Ganapath failed to set the cash registers ringing, they decided to see the audience’s response to Bade Miyan Chote Miyan before taking a call on Rambo’s feasibility. Since the big-ticket action entertainer had an underwhelming run, Siddharth felt it would be best to park his ambitious film for now.”

Since action has been Shroff’s forte in his decade-long career, the last few movies’ lacklustre run has surprised him. Sources say that the actor might slash his fees going forward. The source adds, “He is said to have charged somewhere upwards of Rs 30 crore for Bade Miyan Chote Miyan. The right thing for him would be to reduce his fees.” Meanwhile, the actor has Singham Again and a Karan Johar production in the pipeline.
