Akshay Kumar and newcomer Manushi Chhillar’s historical drama, 'Prithviraj', has received a threat from the Karni Sena. The right-wing group is demanding that Chandraprakash Dwivedi’s directorial venture be shown to them before its release, and the title should be changed to 'Veer Yoddha Samrat Prithviraj Chauhan'. Karni Sena’s youth wing chief, Surjeet Singh Rathore, has “warned” that if producer Aditya Chopra does not pay attention to them, “the film will face the same fate as Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s 'Padmaavat'.”

The Shree Rajput Karni Sena, which had organised protests over the release of Sanjay Leela Bhansali's 'Padmaavat' claiming distortion of facts, has focused its attention on the upcoming Akshay Kumar starrer 'Prithviraj' and is demanding that the title be changed. The organisation, a fringe group that takes up issues related to the Rajput community, said it wants the title of the Yash Raj Films historical drama to reflect the greatness of the last Hindu emperor Prithviraj Chauhan. Just naming it 'Prithviraj' does 'injustice with his glory', it said while warning of protests over the issue.
