Kashmir continues to fascinate filmmakers. While Vivek Agnihotri served The Kashmir Files in 2022, veteran writer KV Vijayendra Prasad recently revealed that he is penning a woman-led historical drama set in the region (Kashmir ki kahaani, Dec 6). National Award-winning director Aditya Suhas Jambhale and actor Yami Gautam are the latest to join the bandwagon with their next, Article 370. The political drama is said to revolve around the take-down of terrorism in Kashmir after Article 370, which granted special status to Jammu and Kashmir in terms of autonomy, was revoked in 2019.

To Gautam, who portrays the role of an intelligence agent, the political action drama represents “a bold chapter of India’s history.” She shares, “The film, inspired by true events, will show how intelligence and politics work hand in hand to take some of the most important decisions that change the course of a nation. Personally, this film gave me the opportunity to delve into newer depths of complexities and a role that hasn’t been [attempted] before.” She will share screen space with Priyamani of The Family Man fame in the Jio Studios and B62 Studios’ production.
