Yami Gautam is currently soaking in the positive response to her recently released film 'OMG 2' co-starring Akshay Kumar and Pankaj Tripathi. The actress plays a lawyer in the film and fights a case against Tripathi's character. After the release of the film, a fan took to his Twitter handle and praised her performance and also said that the actress has been under-utilised by filmmakers. Reacting to the comment, Yami penned her thoughts about the same and said that majority of the industry relies on 'marketing'.

Praising Yami's performance, a fan wrote on X, "It’s amazing how each and every time @yamigautam manages to SURPRISE us with her performance! #OMG2 is no exception. She owns each and every frame she’s in! Even her silence speaks a lot. I hate the term ‘underrated’. I’d just say she’s under-utilised by our filmmakers."

Replying to it, Yami said, ""Some people find success overnight, some people have to prove themselves persistently for years. Some people are great at marketing their talent (or lack of it), some people only want their talent to speak. As an actor I just know how to act and work exceptionally hard on identifying good scripts and versatile characters, that’s my talent. I don’t understand or get involved much with marketing of my talent.

"Unfortunately for majority of our industry everything relies on marketing of a person or project and not on the depth of a script or character. May be that’s the reason why people feel I am under-utilised. Anyways, Thanks so much Aavishkar for your kind words, it’s truly very encouraging. I will get there eventually, slowly but steadily, one film at a time."

During a media interaction recently, Yami shared details about her character. Yami said, "I play Kamini in the film, and I am on the other side of the argument. Kamini is bold, poised, and resilient. She is the only woman in the court arguing on this issue. I think the credit goes to the writer, Amit, who understands that both arguments have to be balanced and realistic."

Later, when the actress was asked if the film was trying to give sex education through God, she quipped, "You haven't watched the film. If anyone writes about things without actually knowing them, that's wrong. The film doesn't have anything of that sort. I also come from a family that follows traditions. I come from 'Dev Bhumi' Himachal; we are rooted people. I don't think I will be a part of any such film that will hurt your sentiments."
