Nafisa Khan changed her name to Jiah after Angelina Jolie's movie Gia (1998).

<p>After completing her A-levels in film studies and literature in London, Jiah Khan studied at the Lee Strasberg Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York. However, she quit midway upon receiving a movie offer from Mumbai.</p>

On June 3, 2013, Jiah Khan was found dead in her flat in Juhu, Mumbai, after hanging herself. The case is under probe by CBI.
