Born on October 9, 1985, Sayani Gupta is a graduate from the Film and Television Institute of India. The actress has been wooing the audience with her acting skills. Sayani made her feature film debut in 2012 in Second Marriage Dot Com, but was also seen in supporting roles in films such as Fan (2016), Jolly LLB 2 (2017) and Article 15 (2019). Sayani Gupta, who was part of Nicholas Kharkongor's film Axone also starring Vinay Pathak, shares the story of racism against residents of India's North-Eastern states. Speaking about the same, Sayani mentioned in an interview with mid-day, "It is bizarre and insensitive. I don't understand how can people stoop down to that level and bully others. It's important for us to send out the right message, which is to stop racism."
"Now, people say there were some [signs of it] in the US. You never know. We are in this together; we can't be blaming each other. I have many friends in the Northeast, and I keep [visiting them]. My closest friend belongs to Assam, so I feel strongly about discrimination," Sayani Gupta added.
Sayani Gupta has also shared screen space with Shah Rukh Khan in Fan, and sharing her journey, she said how the superstar makes her the happiest girl in the world. The actress couldn't help but express her love for SRK as he attended the special screening of Article 15.
Sharing the picture on social media, Sayani Gupta wrote, "Only one man can make women so happy. It is only Shah Rukh Khan. Just the best energy one has experienced after his holiness Dalai Lama. I told him today that I was the only one from the cast and crew of 'Fan' that did not have a photo with him because I always thought I was too cool to go up to someone for a photo."

Sayani Gupta has also worked with Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif in Anurag Basu's Jagga Jasoos. In fact, she called Ranbir the "best star actor" in the country. "Ranbir is the best star actor this country has seen. He is incredibly effortless and versatile as an actor. While working with him, I realised he uses a method and has a strong process, but never exhibits it," Sayani said in a statement.
"His mind works like a director, so his overall understanding of the mise-en-scène is from a filmmaker's point of view and not just an actor's." The actress also feels that they share a "similar approach", but says that she is not even "close to his potential as an actor."
"He is such a breeze to work with and even to watch on screen! He is aware, easy, crafted and unassuming," Sayani Gupta added in the interview.
Speaking about her work, Sayani Gupta stated, "I have done 'Margarita with a Straw', 'Parched' with 'Jagga Jasoos', 'Jolly LLB 2', 'Baar Baar Dekho'. I have been able to balance. But in the last one and a half year, I did not have a single day off. I was doing 'Four More Shots', I did a British series and then I did two films. I had no time. You need to have time to say yes. I don't have the dates."
Talking about her role in the show Four More Shots Please, Sayani Gupta, who plays a no-nonsense journalist, Damini Rizvi Roy, will surely make you fall in love with her character.
In fact, the good news for all Four More Shots fans out there is, the makers have already decided to kickstart the third season. Sharing the news with mid-day, Sayani said, "We were supposed to start shooting in the first week of April with schedules planned across India and abroad, but the shoot is on hold for now. I don't know when we will begin shooting for the show."
Sayani Gupta will soon be seen in Pagglait, a comedy-drama film that also stars Sanya Malhotra, Shruti Sharma, Ashutosh Rana and Raghubir Yadav.
