Shweta Bachchan Nanda and host of other Bollywood celebs attended a special screening of Kalank at a popular multiplex in Juhu, Mumbai. Kalank, a love saga set in the 1940s, effortlessly delves into the lives of the film's primary characters - Varun as Zafar, Alia as Roop, Sonakshi as Satya, Aditya as Dev Chaudhry, Madhuri Dixit-Nene as Bahaar Begum, and Sanjay Dutt as Balraj Chaudhry. Varun Dhawan, who is ready for the release of a multi-starrer film like Kalank, produced by Karan Johar and directed by Abhishek Verman. When asked at a recent event that, has experience made him a better judge of a script? "There is a huge change that has happened in the last 10 years of my career in terms of roles that I am offered. When I debuted in 'Student Of the Year', I do not think that anybody would have imagined that I am capable of playing a character like Zafar of Kalank. It took me 12 films to prove my worth and to gain the confidence of producers to budget a film like Kalank."

Alia Bhatt was all smiles she poses for the photographers at the screening at Kalank at Juhu multiplex. Alia looked pretty in her denim jacket and off-white dress. Alia talking about her character Roop from the film said, "She is a girl with a lot of values of the modern day. She may not be doing all the right things in life but her intention is not bad. She is emotional. Since she is vulnerable and burdened by the journey of life, but at the same time with all her complexity, she is adorable. The challenging part was to make her likeable... Hopefully, people will like it.
Sonakshi Sinha posed for the photographers at the Kalank special screening in Juhu. At the trailer launch, when Sonakshi was asked to talk about her experience working on the film, she said, "This was one of the best work experiences of my life. Working with everyone was amazing. This is my career's most special character. She is strong, sacrificing, who puts family first over her happiness. I am happy that the makers thought of me to portray Satya's character."
Sonakshi Sinha attended the special screening of Kalank with her mother Poonam Sinha. Sonakshi is currently filming for Dabangg 3 along with Salman Khan.
Kunal Kemmu also attended the special screening of Kalank at the Juhu multiplex. At the trailer launch, Kunal thanked Karan Johar and Abhishek Varman, and said that he's very glad and feels privileged to be a part of this film. The actor added that audiences will get to see his character only on April 17.
Madhuri Dixit Nene looked pretty in her traditional attire as she arrived for the special screening of Kalank at Juhu multiplex. Talking about the film Madhuri said, "Kalank is far from simple. The characters are larger than life, there is a lot of angst and there is turmoil. The sets are larger than life." Kalank came her way after the untimely demise of Sridevi, who was earlier supposed to star as Bahaar Begum in the Abhishek Varman-directed film. "As an actor, it wasn't difficult to play this role. But emotionally it was difficult as you know something unfortunate had happened so suddenly. I am also a mother, she has two kids, who are so young, so thinking of all that, it was really sad," Madhuri added.
Veteran choreographer Saroj Khan, who worked with Madhuri Dixit for Tabah Ho Gaye song from Kalank, also attended the special screening of the film with family. Madhuri talking about working with Saroj Khan said, "Sarojji is one of the choreographers I have collaborated with who goes beyond the surface of lyrics of a song when she choreographs. In cinema, we tend to create steps keeping the camera angle in mind. But Sarojji doesn't limit the dance in physical movements. She finds a spiritual aspect and works on expressions. She knows how to make a woman look graceful and beautiful through a dance."
Varun Dhawan came in with parents David and Karuna for the specials screening of Kalank in Juhu.
Filmmaker Karan Johar also attended the special screening of his film Kalank at a multiplex in Juhu.
Sajid Nadiadwala, who is one of the producer's of the film Kalank, also attended the special screening of the period drama with wife Wardha and other guests.
