Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan announced their engagement on 14 January 2007 which was later confirmed by his father, Amitabh Bachchan. The rumour mills started running when the duo was filming `Guru` and promoting the film overseas.

Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan married on 20 April 2007, according to traditional Hindu rituals of the Bunt community, to which Rai belongs.

The wedding took place in a private ceremony at the Bachchan residence, Prateeksha, in Juhu, Mumbai, but was heavily covered by the entertainment media. 

Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan appeared on The Oprah Winfrey Show in September 2009 and were described as more famous than Brangelina. They have been described as a supercouple in the Indian media. The viral videos of the duo - Abhishek showing off his funny side whereas Aish laughing out loud on her husband`s wit is not new to the followers.
