New York: "The Hobbit" actor Manu Bennett was arrested by San Antonio police for punching a 29-year-old man at a hotel. He is now out of jail.

Bennett was arrested on a misdemeanour assault charge, while he attended the Alamo City Comic Con, reports variety.com.
The 45-year-old was arrested on Sunday following an assault in progress call from the Grand Hyatt Hotel and was held on a $1,600 bond. However, he was released the same day, according to Bexar County Magistrate's Office records.
Bennett portrayed Azog the Defiler in " The Hobbit" trilogy and the gladiator Crixus in the TV series "Spartacus". He is set to appear as Allanon in the upcoming MTV series "The Shannara Chronicles".
