Rome: Actress Anita Ekberg, best known for her performance in Federico Fellini's iconic 1960 movie "La Dolce Vita", passed away Sunday at the age of 83.

According to the Italian newspaper La Stampa, Ekberg died here Sunday morning after having been under treatment for some time in the clinic San Raffaele in Rocca di Papa, reports telegraph.co.uk.
