The 23-year-old's song "Rolling in the deep" and album "21" helped her win big at the Grammy awards this year, telecast worldwide Sunday.
The track "Rolling in the deep" won her trophies for the record of the year, song of the year and short form music video. The album "21" brought her honours in categories, including album of the year and best pop vocal album; she also won the best pop solo performance for her song "Someone Like You" from the same album.
Apart from receiving awards, Adele took to stage for her first live performance ever since her vocal chord surgery in November 2011. She entertained the audience at the Staples Centre with a rendition of the chart-topping number "Rolling in the deep".
She became emotional on stage after receiving the album of the year award for "21", said to have sold more than 6.3 million copies in the US and broken many sales records, including 19 weeks at No. 1 on the US Billboard album chart. Adele thanked all radio stations for playing the song over and over again and the people who love it.
