Following director Guillermo del Toro's exit from 'Justice League Dark', also known as 'Dark Universe', people wondered whether the movie would still happen. But according to latino-review.com, the movie may still be in works, reports aceshowbiz.com.

Before Colin Farrell, Ewan McGregor was previously offered the role. Warner Bros reportedly pursued Ron Perlman to take the role of Swamp Thing.

The report also said that the studio is eyeing Monica Bellucci, who played one of the Bond girls in 'Spectre', to play sorceress Madame Xanadu. Moreover, the report suggests that the studio wants a Hispanic or black actress for Zatanna's role and a comedic type actor for Deadman.

Toro, who also wrote the screenplay of 'Justice Legaue Dark', had to drop out of the project due to scheduling conflicts with the production of 'Pacific Rim 2'.

However, the studio is still excited enough about his script and wants to make the project a priority.

Scott Rudin is reportedly on board as a producer for the project, for which filming is expected to start next year.
