Indian origin actor Karan Soni is a frequent face on American television and cinema, having recently featured in Ryan Reynolds's superhero actioner, Deadpool (2016). Although he has several Hollywood outings in his kitty, including the TV drama, Room 104, Soni has Bollywood aspirations too.
While he is yet to make his acting debut in the Hindi film industry, Soni is set to take to the director's chair.
"The script for my Indian film is ready, and I am looking for funds. I want to cast Bollywood actors in it, and be the only Hollywood artiste among them. The film would be in English, with bits in Hindi as well," says Soni of his film, which he hopes to kick off by next year. The commercial film, as Soni refers to it, would be along the lines of his "favourite" director, Karan Johar's Kal Ho Naa Ho (2003). "I'd like to work with him, and Farah Khan too," he adds.
Soni also has the HBO series, Room 104, which airs on Star World Premiere, in his kitty. "It explores different time periods. My episode is set around 1997."
