However, Tatum, 34, said he reduced the consumption after his wife Jenna Dewan-Tatum welcomed their daughter Everly last year, reported People magazine.
"I probably drink too much, you know. My wife, that's what she bought into... I'm probably a pretty high-functioning, I guess, you know, I would say, alcoholic, I guess," Tatum said.
"There's probably a tendency to escape. I equate it to creativity, and I definitely equate it to having a good time," he added. The 'Step Up' star plans not to drink for four months while making the 'Magic Mike' sequel and intends to quit after the film.
"Then, at the end of that movie. It's go time," he said. Not just booze, Tatum is also fond of cakes. "I just love cake. Confetti cake, to be specific. It has little coloured candies inside the cake, and then you get the confetti icing, which is really hard to find sometimes," he said.
