Los Angeles: Director James Gunn says he grew up watching actor-filmmaker Sylvester Stallone's films, and working with him on 'Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2' was daunting.
Stallone will play one of the Ravagers, the group of space pirates led by Michael Rooker's Yondu, in the forthcoming film.
"Working with Stallone for me was, frankly, daunting because I used to run around in my back yard as a kid pretending I was Johnny Rambo," Gunn said in a statement.
He added: "Stallone is an iconic part of my childhood. 'Rocky' and 'Rambo' were really big movies to me as a child. And I must have watched 'Rocky' 50 times. So meeting Sly was daunting but really great."
"Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" is written and directed by Gunn, and stars Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana and Dave Bautista. It also features the voices of actors like Vin Diesel and Bradley Cooper.
It is releasing on May 5 in India.
