Pop star Jennifer Lopez's boyfriend Casper Smart has taken to Twitter to defend the almost 20-year age gap between them.

Smart, 24, has been dating the 'On the Floor' singer in the wake of her split from Marc Anthony but in a series of tweets appears to have hit back at criticism that the 42-year-old star is too old for him, reported E! online.
"Age, status, and opinions of others are irrelevant. Our hearts are endless and our souls infinite. Our ages are mere reminders of the hours logged on this earth and the precious time remaining.
We should all honor our time here by indulging our passion and dreams. So, close your ears and open your hearts; Love and be happy! (sic)," Smart wrote on Twitter.
This isn't the first time back up dancer Smart has taken to twitter to defend his relationship with the singer. He has previously written that he finds people's idle speculation about their love confusing. He has also been retweeting people who have defended the pair's romance.
