The 43-year-old actor was arrested on Friday in Tallahassee, Florida, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The police report alleges that he caused between USD 200 and USD 1,000 in damage to his Hotel Duval room.
Brendon, who was in town to headline the weekend comic book convention ALT*Con, was released from jail on Saturday.
He is due in court March 30. The actor told the Tallahassee Democrat on that he has been dealing with depression. "I stopped taking my meds a while ago, which was a mistake," said Brendon, who played Xander on "Buffy".
"It culminated yesterday with my taking some sleeping pills and then going into a blackout."
Brendon, who is also known for roles on "Criminal Minds" and "Private Practice", was arrested last month on suspicion of grand theft and criminal mischief in Fort Lauderdale, and he had previously been arrested in Idaho in October 2014 for malicious injury to property.
In 2010, he landed a suspended one-year jail sentence stemming from a incident for which he was charged with four misdemeanours, including battery against a police officer and vandalism. He went to rehab in 2004 and 2010.
The actor's representative did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
