Los Angeles: Oscar Isaac has been confirmed as the titular villain in Bryan Singer's 'X-Men: Apocalypse'.

The movie is the latest X-Men installment and Bryan Singer is returning to the director's chair. The actor is best known for his roles in the Coen brothers' 'Inside Llewyn Davis' and for 'Drive'. He is currently starring in J C Chandor's 'A Most Violent Year', a 1980s-set crime drama with Jessica Chastain.
Isaac recently finished working for a role in the new Star Wars movie. The latest film from the 'X-Men' franchise, 'Apocalypse' is set in the 1980s. Original cast members like Michael Fassbender as Magneto, James McAvoy as Professor X and Jennifer Lawrence as Mystique are returning.
Apocalypse, born in the ancient Middle East, is an immortal whose powers include telepathy and changing his body. The film is slated for a May 27, 2016, release date.
