The 'Umbrella' hitmaker said she completely relied on technical adviser Jacqueline Carrizosa to help her with the role, Daily Express reported. "My character, her name is Raikes.
She's a weapons officer, she's not afraid of anything. She loves weapons, she knows them - not only her weapons, but every other weapon on the ship.
"We had this navy officer on set. Her name is Jackie, she's also in the Navy. I was playing what she really does in real life.
She was all tatted (tattooed) up and I just looked at her and I was like, 'You are Raikes," she said. Carrizosa taught the 23-year-old singer military phrases, how to handle weapons, and even the correct way to salute superiors.
"I watched her and I really just lived and breathed in her mindset and tried to really get into her character. She's fearless and she's one of the boys and it was really fun to learn those technicalities from her," she added.
